TRADE RECOVERING.
PORT OF NEW PLYMOUTH
By Telegraph—Press Association NEW PYMOUTH, May 19.
At the New Plymouth Harbour Board meeting to day, the secretary reported that the trade of the port was rapidly recovering from the recent general depression. The revenue for the past four-weekly period was greater than in the corresponding period of last year, whilst for the first three months of the year the increase was about £9OO, but still a little short of the earnings for a similar period in 1908. The wharfage dues for the four weeks ending April 26th were larger than in any fourweekly period previous. Another very satisfactory feature was that the land revenue received for the past quarter was the highest for ten years past.
