A DETERMINED BURGLAR,

A sensational attempt to rob the Boxbill branch of tue E. S. and A. Bank was foilel b/ the pluck and presence of mind of the manager, Mr Sutton, and his wife. Early this morning Sutton was awakenelby alight shining in his fjc, sn 1 found himself luoking down the tarrel of a revolver. The man wore a motor overall, and his facew as masked.
Standing at the beiside, the intruder demanded money, and ordered Sut ton fo get up. Keeping him covered with the revolver, he toll him to throw up his arms. Meantime Mrs Sutlo nwas awakened, and told the man not to hurt her husband, at the same time pulM jr the bell rope at the bed'a hes! connecting with the kitchen She told tie robber she had given the alarm. The man rushed and secured the bell pail again, and then ordered Sulton to get up.
Sutton, bringing down his arms upon the bed, secure his revolver from under the pillow, and fired point blank at the robber, who, bending down, rushed out of the room, closed the door, and then fired through the panel, the bulkt striking the w;ll near the bed. Sutton tehuho; el for thd police, who did not arrive for a considerable time. Mianwhile the man got away.
