MONTHLY MEETING.

Ihe monthly meeting of the General Committee of the Masterton A. and P. Association was held on Saturday. Mr G. C. Summerell occupied the chair, and there were also present Messrs J. M. James, A. G.

Pilmer, J. D. Cruickshank, C. F. Vallance, B. Rayner, O. C. Cooper, k A. J. Perry, T. P. Lett, W. H. Buick, R. Gray, E. Harper, R. J. Da'gg, D. McGregor, junr., W. Perry, H. Morrison, W. Cooper, W. J. Welch, J. C. McKillop. Apologies for absence were received from Messrs H. A. Matthews, J. P. Peny, tnd W. L\ Watson. IMPROVEMENTS TO SOLWAY. The Ground Committee reportel satisfactory progress was bei g made with the improvements to Solwey. FINANCE. The Finance Con.mittee lepcrtec' as follows! Dr. balance on April 9tb, £936. 7s 9d; (xper.ditue fcr month, £285 7s 9J; cash in hand, £SB 16s 2d; receipts for monlh,||£ls7 12s 21; leaving a debit balance of .£902 12s. Accounts totalling £134 8s 4d were recommenled for payment. It was resolved that Messrs -0..C. Cooper, G. U Summerell, and :J. D. Cruickshank were authorised to take steps to arrange a loan on flit mortgage on the Soljvay property. \ LAIE KING EDWARD. It was decided to adjourn all general business, and the Chairman mover! the following motion: —"That this Association desire to place on record their sense of the deep loss •sustained bv th 3 nation and overseas dominions in tha death of His Majesty King El ward VII, and that the Association feel an a'Jdad sense of loss on account of the keen interest evinced by Hi 3 Majesty , in agricultural matters., and that a rcopy of the resolution be forwarded ta the Hon. the Prime Minister." A silent • vote was given, the members standing.
