MASTERTON HOMING PIGEON CLUB.

The Masterton Homing Pigeon Club completed its North young turd races yesterday with a successful fly from Napier an airline distance of 130 milep. Forty-four birds, . representing lofts, competed, and the finish was tha most interesting of the season. Of those who had bird in the first half dozen, Mr Bradbury proved the sDsediest of clocking in with his blue cheek hen Ursula, although Messrs A, Miller and J. Dixon were in close attendance with Mr W. Hoar fourth. Tli2 twelve members all succeeded in "clocking in" a candidate, and the judge, Mr E. Richards senr., had a busy time in allotting the positions. The birds were kindly liberated by the station master, and the following is the result: — Mr J. Bradbury's blue check hen ™ "Ursula," time Shrs 17min, velocity | 1,080 yards per minute 1; Mr A. \ Miller's "Nerissa," red check hen, 1 time Shrs 17£rnin, velocity 1,077 yds I per minute 2;' Mr J. 'lhe young bird championship will ba flown on Saturday, May 14th, from Blenheim, for the cup kindly presented by Mr Rangi Kerehoma. As the points for this event are 3, 2 and 1, for first, second and third, respectively, Mr J. Bradbury's win for the young bird aggregate is assured.
