The Rev. D. C. Bates' summary and forecast are as follow: —Rain fell in many parts during Wednesday night, and cloudy and unsettled weather has prevailed, with variable winds. The barometer rose during the night, but has fallen slightly in the North to«day, and present indications are for a falling barometer and development of the storm area in the northernmost districts,. easterly winds risir.g strong to gale, with cloudy, wet and squally weather north of the East Gape and Kawhia. Shortly changeable weather is probable elsewhere, with variable winds. A low pressure area is due in the South on Wednesday next, strong northerly winds preceding it.
