Sir Joaonh Ward passed through Chri3tch,urch thi3 morning on his way South to deliver an address at Winton on Thursday. He 1 met a deputation, which urged that the work of erecting the new Government Buildings should be proceeded with on the siie in Cathedral Square acquired for the purpose. The Prime Minister said arrangements had already been made for calling tenders for the I work, but had been held ovei until the approach of winter, in order ;o sustain the labour market in the ! slack months.
