THE SEARCH FOR MR T. DONNELLY.
NO SIGN OF THE MISSING PKOSPECTOR.
A further fruitless search was made yesterday for the missing*prospector, Mr Turn Donnelly. On Saturday afternoon a party left Masterton and camped near Mr Thomsen's house, while another party left early yesterday morning. Three settlers in the close vicinity, Messrs H, Thomsen, H. liiotog, and Sarancke, joined the party, and, knowing the cuunfcry well rendered the party valuable assistance. Mr Levien, one of the searchers, said that information Waa given the party with reference to a fire seen on one of the spurs six days after it became known that Donnelly was miasiDg. A vigorous search was made on and about the spur mentioned, but without succesf. In all eighteen men were engaged, and at a suggestion from one o* the local settlers present, the party divided, and the two creeks where Donnelly had been prospecting were traversed from their source, until they reachedfjthe river. All searching, however, proved resultless, and the party returned to Masterton last evening. The members of the search party wish to express their appreciation of the services rendered by the Waingawa residents, Messrs Thomsen, Moore and Sarancke, and Mr Donnelly's friends wish to thank all those who have assisted in the search.
Constable Dunn, of the local police force,accompanied the party yesterday.
