A MORE SEVERE LANGUAGE TEST. Received April 29, 11.15 p.m. LONDON, April 29. The Right Hon. Mr Sydney Buxton, in receiving a deputation from the National Sailor's and Firemen's Union, said he desired to leseen the number of Chinese in British ships. He promised to increase the severity of the language test, and also proposed to publish notices at ail ports of Chinese and Lascars entitled to claim compensation from ovjners in case of accident.
