The rr.any friends of Mr James Whittaker, Maslerton, will regret io learn of tha death of his wife, which took place at Patea, yesterday. Mrs Whittaker recently suffered a severe iiloess, and had gone to her sister's (Mis Torey) at Patea, where it was hoped that the change would prove beneficial. Unfortunately she suffered a lap-.e vviih fatal results. Tfce deceasad lady was only 41 years of age, and leaves a family of four boys, whose agea range from Bto 17 years. She was a daughter of the late Captain Clarkson, for many years Harbour Master' at Timaru, and resided in Masterton for about 13 years. The body will be brought to Masterton, and the funeral will take place to morrow, leaving the residence of Mr Whittaker, in South road, at half-past two o'clock, for the Masterton Cemetery.
