Mr Edward Sullivan, cf this town. I has disp sed of his property of 1,044 acres ac Kohinui to Mr James Faulkner, of Watigaehu, at a very satisfactory figure. The sale was effected through the agency of Mr Peter Tulloch, in conjunction with Mr F. P. Welch, of Masterton. At the meeting of the Kntoroa and Buj'a Ladies' Hockey Clubs yesterday afternoon, it was decided to amalgamate. The following officers were fleeted:—President, Mr A. H. Dallßstcsr.; Vice-Presidents, Mesdarnes U. Crewe, G. A. Burgess and Hawkins: club captain, Miss E. Burgess; vice captain, Miss S. K. H ghes; secretary, Miss O. Oaley. A socia l in aid of the funds of tne Church of England was held in the Library Hail, Mangatainoka, last night. Quite a number of the town folk were present. After a concert, which was highly appreciated, a dance followed, which was kept up until a late hour The following contributed to the programme:—Mrs Burgess, Misses Burgess, Woodhouse, Wakeman, Wagg and Marshall, and Messrs Scobell and Meale. The arbitrators appointed for Walsh nnd Tumor in the recent libel action are taking eviderce to-day in the B rough Council Cr-amrers.
