HASTINGS, April 28. Fine but cloudy weather favoured the Hawke's Bay J.C. to-day for the conclusion of the Cup meeting. The course was in goad croer, and th.. re was a fair attendance. Fourteen bookmakers were licensed. The .sum of £7,609 10s passed through tne machines for the d&y, maksrg £14,241 for the meeting, against £19,593 for the Cup meeting last

Ukawa Hack Handicap, 7 furlongs. —Amato, 8.5, 1; Royal Marice, 3.4,. 2; Idealism, 7.13, 3. Amato came wi£h a great run and won by a length Idealism a good third. Time, linn 30 l-ssec.
riawke's Bay Stakes, 6£ furlongs-. —'Boanerges, 9.4, 1; Broadsword 8.8, 2; Sea Eagle, 7.4. 3. Also started—Countermine, Formby, War Song, Bunkum and Floater. Won by a length and a half. A length between second, and third. Tim 3, lmiri 22 l-ssec.
Burke Memorial Stakes, 1J miles. —Sir Tristram, 8.2, 1; Sir Antrim, 8.5, 2; Maori King, 8.12, 3. Also started—California? 8.2, Parable 7.13, Merrivonia 7.12, John 7.5, Glissade 6.9, Bally Heigh 6.9, and Golden Water 6.7. Glissade was responsible for the pace/ closely attended by Sir Antrim. She led until the distance post, when Sir Antrim, Maori King and Sir Tristram joined her. In a good finish Sir Tristram won by two lengths, a length between second and third. Time, 2min 9 1 53ec. Scurry Hack Handicap, 5 furlongs. —Contendent, 8.11. ?; Acalon, 9.0, 2; Amaru, 8.4, 3. Won by a length. Amaru a fair third. Time, 1 min 2 4-ssec.
Mangatarata Handicap Hurdle Race, 1£ mile.—Forest, 9.0, 1; Continuance, 9.12, 2; Polyanthus, 31.9, 3. Won by half a length, three lengths between second and third. Time, 3min 18 4-ssec. Juvenile Handicap, 7 furlongs.— Directoire, 7.7, 1; Lady Reina, 8.6, 2; Gloss, 7.7, 3. Won by a length. A great race for second place oetween Gloss, Lady Re ma and Humming Bird. Time, lmin 3sec.
Farewell Handicap, 6 furlongs.— Nyland. 8.4,1; Hermia, 8.0,2; Dazzling, 7.3, 3. Won by a length and a halt, a length between second and third. Time, lmin 15gec.
