SHOOTS HER HUSBAND

In the case of Canline .'Buekman, charged with the murder of her husband, the evidence disclosed the fact that the accused was subjected to much ill-usage from her husband. A verdict nf justifiable homicide was returned.

On January 23rd last Mrs Buckman, who lived with- her husband and family on a farm in the country, was chased out of the house by the deceased. Learning that her husband threatened to go after her and "settle her with a gun," she mounted a horse, rode some distance, and procured firearms. When the husband eventually came after her she took delibrate aim and shot him dead, immediately afterwards going to the police station, where she gave herself up and stated that she committed the deed in self defence.
