Messrs Dalgety and C 0.,. Ltd., report having received the followinj; cable message from their London house, under date of the 18th inst:— Tha list of arrivals is closed, and all your wools have arrived in time except those per "Karatnea." The number of bales of new arrivala amounts to 431,000, of which 270,000 bales have been forwarded direct to manufacturers at Home and abroad, leaving, with 9,000 bales old stocks, 170,000 bales available for sale."
STOCK MARKET. By Telegraph—Special to the Age. PALMERSTON N., Thursday. Messrs Abraham and Williams, Ltd., report at their sale at Palmerston North on Thursday they offered an entry ot 5,000 sheep, consisting chiefly of aged ewes. There was a lair demand, and with the excepton of two pens all lines changed hands. An average entry of cattle met with good competition, and all lots were sold. Quotations:—Two and 4-tooth forward wethers, 13s 4d; 2-tooth wethers 12s; forward ewes, empty 8s 9d; empty store ewes, 6s 6d to 8s; cull empty ewes, 2s 6a to 4s 7d; good 4tooth to f.m. ewes in lamb, 10s 6d tollssd; s.m. ewes m lamb, 8s *o 9s; f.m. low condition ewes in lamb, 6s to 7s 9d; empty 2-tooth halfbred Shropshire ewes, 10s; small woolly lambs, 4s lOd; shorn lambs, 5s 6d to 5s lid; cull lambs, 3s 2d to 4s Id; 3year forward bullocks, £6: empty forward cows, £3 10s; fat cows, £4 KJs to £4 12s 6d; good weaners, 27s 6d to 335; small weaners, 12s; spring calving heifers, £4 to £5; empty forward heifer?, £3 10s; springing heifers £5 4s 6d; cows in milk, £4 to £5 ss.
