CRICKET.
HENDERSON CUP CHAMPIONSHIP. CARLTON v. CARTERTON. The play-off match between the above teams was advanced another stage in the Carterton ground yesterday afternoon. The wicket was in good order, though perhaps a little heavy. Carlton, with four wickets down tor 46 runs, resumed their second innings, and succeeded in bringing the score to 151 before the last wicket fell, R. Moss 76, A. Styles 22, and F. Welch 16 not out were responsible for the score.
Carterton, requiring 218 runs to win, went to the wickets to face what seemed a hopeless task.They succeeded in compiling 26 for the loss of five wickets, Mascelle being responsible for the wickets, his average reading 5 wickets for 4 runs. Following are the scores
