TARANAKI OIL. OFFERS FROM ABROAD. By Telegraph—Press Association. NEW PLYMOUTH, April 20. It is authoritatively stated that the Taranaki Petroleum Company has received offers from three separate capitalistic concerns abroad to purchase their plant, rights, and property at Moturoa, and that negotiations are in progress. The directors in each communication stipulate that any agreement made with them is subject to rat.fication by the shareholders. Shares are rapidly hardening. A meeting of Councillors of tha Borough of New Plymouth and representative ratepayers of the suburban areas decided to-night to submit to the ratepayers a proposal to form a tramway rating area, in connection with -the proposal to instal an electric tramway system, estimated to cost about £46,000. The motive power would be derived from the municipal electric lighting and power instalation.
