HALLEY'S COMET.
INTENSE INTEREST. Received April 19, 10.7 a.m. LONDON, April 18. The approach of Halley's comet has aroused intense excitement in China. The Christian Literature Society is distributing posters showing that the previous visits of the comet were harmless. CLEARLY SEEN AT KHARTOUM. Received April 19,10.13 a.m. CAIRO, April 18. Halley's comet can be clearly seen at Khartoum. Received April 19, 10.17 a.m. MELBOURNE, April, 19. The Observatory officials have obtained a photograph of Halley' comet.
