THE RUBBER BOOM.
SCRAMLE FOR SHARES. RESULTS IN PANDEMONIUM. Received April 19, 9.45 p.m. LONDON, April 19. There was a big scramble for rubber shares, issued yesterday at the Chartered Bank of India, the~bankers of no less than four companies. The bank was besieged for two hours by men, women and boys, pandemonium reigning inside, despite the c.shiers' assurances that the lists were closed a few minutes after opening. The 2s shares of one company rose to 16s during the day.
