£ From Our Own Conespqncent. ] 2 ~;~"\ - Saturday. A violent gale, commencing on Thursday morning, has not blown itself out yet. Considerable damage has been done to fencing, small buildings, ornamental trees, and several grain and hay stacks have been levelled. On Thursday and Friday a heavy downpour of rr.jn v. a* experienced. Nurse Clarke, of the staff of the Hamilton Hospital, who has been on a visit to her relatives, leaves for Hamilton to-daji.. A sociai was held in the Hall on Thursday night last as the opening of the winter dancing classes, which are to be held weekly. Owing to tl.;e inclement state of the weather the Hall was not overcrowded. Mr T. VVrigley abiy presided at the piano. The householders are looking forward to the coming school committee election, vchieh takes place on the 26th inst.
