PAHIATUA NEWS.

Own Correspondent. Monday. A committee meeting of the Woodlands Hunt Club wai held in the Commercial Hotel, Pahiatua, on Saturday evening last. Correspondence was received from tha huntsman of the Manawatu Hunt, thanking the Woodlands Hunt Club for supplying lour hounds, and from Mr G Hunter, of Porangahau, accepting the "position of patron of the Hunt, and enclosing a cheque *or £5 to the Club's funds. Messrs J. Wright and PI. and A. Ellingham were elected members of tfre Club. A general meeting of Hunt' Club is to be held after tne 17th April to consider the advisability of holding a two days' steeplechase meeting. Tho folio77ing is the list of runs for the season:—April 20th, Oete; April 27th, Mr Mexted's; May 4tb, Hamua; May 14th, Pahiatua: May 18th, Oete; May 25th, Mexted's; June Ist, Hamua; June 8, Pahiatua; June 15th, Oete; June 25th, Mexted's; June 29th, Hamua; July 9ih, Pahiatua; July 13th, Oete; July 20th, Pahiatua; July 27th, Mextad's; August 3rd, HunlSteeplechase Meeting. The propo&ed meeting of the Management Committee of the Bush Kugby Union lapsed on Saturday evening owing to the boisterous weather. The next meeting v/iil be held on Saturday. Harvest thanksgiving services were held yesterday in St. Peter's Church. The church was prettily decorated for the occasion.

A committee meeting of the Agricultural Association was held on Saturday to nominate vice-presi-dents. The following°gentlemc»i were nominated: —Messrs C. Avery, Wm. Tosswill, W. Mitchell and Captain Whyte
