RETURNS NOW COMPLETE.
LABOUR IN THE SENATE.

The returns of the voting for the House of Representatives are practically complete. The total number of voters on the rolls was 2,153,339, and the votes cast, net including informal, which were comparatively heavy, numbered 1,276,934, Labour scoring 633,382, Fusionists 577,104, Independents 56,448. The percentage of the votes cast was 58.75-compared with 51.48 at the 1906 election. In all the States, with the exception of Tasmania, where there was a slight decrease, the percentage substantially increased, particularly in Western Australia.
MR FISHER IN BRISBANE. AN ENTHUSIASTIC RECEPTION. Received Aprii 18, 9.40 a.m. SYDNEY, April 18. Queensland has moved into line with the other States by placing the three Labour Senators ahead. On the present showing Labour will have twenty-three seats in the Senate to thirteen held by the Fusionist?. Mr Fisher, Leader of] the Labour party, returned to Brisbane on Saturday. A great gathering at the railway station gave him an enthusiastic reception. He leaves for Melbourne on Thursday next.
