TIMBER WORKER'S STRIKE. DISCHARGE OF STEAMERS. WHARF LABOURERS' UNION'S DECISION. Orated Press Association—By Electrio Telegraph Copyright. Received April 18, 9.20 a.m. MELBOURNE, April 18. The Wharf Labourers' Union has resolved to notify shipowners that no timber will be handled for export from to-day, but that State and inter-State vessels which arrived up to Saturday will be discharged. QUEENSLAND MEAT WORKS EMPLOYEES. RESUMPTION OF WOKK. BRISBANE, April J7. The meat works employees, who struck because the employers refused a demand tor an increase in wages of 30 per cent, in addition to an increase of 20 per cent, recently given by the Wages Boaid, have resumed work pending a conference on Monday, when the employers and employees will discuss the situation. TROUBLE IN GERMANY. BUILDING TRADES IDLE. Received April 18, 10.20 a m. BERLIN, April 18. The building trade in Germany is at a standstill, excepting in Berlin, Hamburg, and Munich, where the majority of the men do not belong to unions. The men's fund will suffice to keep them for five week*. There are 200,000 persons ojt. The. employers represent 22,000 firms. BERLIN EMPLOYERS' UNION. __ ADVICE TO MEMBERS. Received April 18, 10.30 p.m. BERLIN, April 18. The Employers Union has not joined the lock-out, but is urging members not to undertake work in lock-out districts. The masters and men in Hamburg have come to an amicable understanding.
