Our Pahiatua correspondent writes: ''The funeral of the late Mr Michael Quitke took place this afternoon, at 230 p.m. A service ',' was held in the Roman Catbolic Ghurch by the Rev. Father Hicksor, of Wellington, a cousin of the deceased, and the service at the graveside' by the Rev. Father MeKenna, assisted by the Rev. Father Hickacn. Despite the inclemency of the weather, the funeral was attended by a very large assemblage of personal friends of"the deceased. The deceased's parents received letters of condolence and sympathy from all over the Dominion, and very many handsome floral tributes were received from the leading residents of the town and district, including a handsome wreath from the Police Force or the- Wel-r ir.2ton District. ,
