BOXING.
BURNS BEATS LANG. Received April 12, 1.30 a.m. SYDNEY, April 11. In the heavy-weight boxing championship of Australia Burns won jn twenty rounds on points, r Fifteen thousand people witnessed the fight, which was not characterised by any hard hitting. Throughout the whole twenty rounds the contestants conrenting themselves by boxing cautiously for a knock-out which never came. A feature of the fight ■was the clever evasive work of Burns, and the improved ring generalship of the Victorian. Burns en-'-''dsavoured to finish his opponent in _ the third round, but no serious damage resulted. About the tenth round the Victorian appeared to weaken, ■ and looked as if|tbe end was in sight. However, he fought out further •rounds, bat Burns -always beJd Lang *well in hand.
