RACING. WELLINGTON RACES. By Telegraph —Press Association. WELLINGTON, April 10. The weather was perfect tfor the second day of the Wellington Racing Club's meeting. The attendance was again good, and the course in perfect order. Ingoda established a record for the St. Leger Stakes, doing the distance in 3min 2sec, being three seconds ahead of Treadmill's time in 1904. Totallsator investments amounted to £16,102. as against £13,270 for the corresponding- day last year, the total for the meeting being £28,571 10s as against £24,808 lasc year. Bookmakers' fees amounted to*£3oo 10s. Mr J.B.Harcourt, President of the Club, took the opportunity of the Governor's presence to extend to him the good wishes of the Wellington Racing Club, and to say farewell. Lord Plunket, in reply, said he was very glad to-have been associated with the Wellington Club, and wished them every success. He mentioned where they were backward at home in racing, and trusted that through his experience here with the various clubs in the Dominion that he would be able to introduce some New, Zealand ideas at Home, (Applause). The results are:—-

Second Hurdle Handicap, 1£ mile. —Mr Jack's Gold Bird, 10.2, 1; Hydrant, 10.2, 2; Longner, 10.9, 3. Also ran—-Exmoor, Moose, Chase Mab. Gold Bird, who held first position for a greater part of the race, shot up well on entering the straight, and won by half a length, lime, 2min 46 4-ssec.

Hutt Handicap, 1 mile. —Middleton's Tr.uganim, 9.9, 1; Bollm, 9.4, 2; Mataari, 9.0, 3. Also ran—Hilarian, Swimming Belt, Adria, Aboriginal. Hilarian and Swimming Belt got left. Mataari led to the straight. Truganini put in a grand race up the straight, and won by a length and ahalf.. Time, Imin 41 4-ssec.

Muritai Handicap, 7 furlongs.— Mr H. R, Telford's San Lass, 6.7, i; Leahora, 7.7, 2: St. Felix, 8.6, 3. Aiso ran—Marine, Succession, Ideailism, Explosive, Ukraine. St. Felix led to the straight. The winner then came up in the last few strides and secured the race by half a head. Time, Imin 29 3-ssec. Autumn Handicap, 1J miles.—Sir Clifford's Husbandman, 8.0, F. E. Jones, 1; Lady Medallist, 7.5, 2; Bridge, 7.4, 3. Also ran—Equitas, Effort, Diabolo, Sir Tristram, Osiris, Adria, Cronstadt. The winner came up in the last stages of the race and on by a neck. Equitas led for the first half mile. Adria was left at the post. Time, 2min Bsec. St. Leger Stakes, 1| miles.—Mr D, Kutherford's Ingoda, 8.7, 1; Milan, 8.7, 2; Kilwinning, 8.10, 3. Also ran—Maringo. Kilwinning had the running, passing the post; shortly after he was replaced by Milan, who took the field into the straight. Half way home Ingoda challenged,the winner pulling off the race by a length. Time, 3min 2sec.

Pacific Handicap, 5 furlongs.—Sir G. Clifford's Tenterhook, 9.3, 1; King Soult, 7.9, 2; Dearest, 6.7, 3. Also ran—Emblem, Golden Loop, Lord Kelvin, British Maid, Deploy, Complexity. Emblem lea at the start. Tenterhook tooK command ccming'out of the straight, and won by a length. Time, Imin 2 3-ssec.

Suburban Handicap, 6 furlongs.— Mr J. Monk's Gipsy Belle, 7.2, 1; Parula, 6.7, 2; Ballarat, 7.4, 3, Also started—North East, Tumut, Kilindini,; Sharpshooter, Advantage, Moif Ami. Parula led out, but Gipsy Belle caught the leader entering the straight and won by a length. Time. Imin 14 l-ssec.

Belmont Handicap, 6 furlongs.— MrR. T. Turnbull's Laius, 6.7, 1; Leahora, 7.8, 2; Rongomai, 7.5, 3. Also ran—Magneto, Faunus, Kiha, First Battery, Explosive, Penza, Undecided. The horses were all in a line at the entrance to the straight. Laius and Leahora then stood out and had a good fight, the former getting home by a short head. Time, Imin 16 3-ssec
