D C. | Bates' summary and forceast:—The { high pressure system which has prevailed during the past three days has been accompanied by fine weather generally except in the extreme South and gales have been frequent in Jb'oveaux Strait. The present conditions will probably continue to hold sway for about 36 hours, but with freshening winds and a falling barometer in the South. Moderate to strong easterly winds are probable northward of East Cape and Kawhia.
