MASTERTON HOMING PIGEON CLUB.
A vtry interesting 1 rac.' j was held by members uf the atove Club. Ti ■>' birds were liberated by the stationmaster Waipaw2. at 12 o'clock, and they arrived home at 2.30, traversing; tt e distance of 85 :::iles air line in two arid :i-half hours. Mr E. H Richards was judge, and the following is the result:--Mr W. Drake's "Endeavour," velocity 1,005 yards per minute 1 Mr J Bradbury's "Blank," velocity 1,004 yards per minute 2 Mr W. Hoar's "Sparking Plug," velocity 1,003 yards per minute 3 On Saturday next the Club are holding a tean-s |race from Wellington. Each member nominates three young birds, and ii stead of the usual custom of trapping the first bird home the three birds have to be trapped. Therp are five young bird races still to be flown. Th; points obtained to date in the young bird aggregate are as follows:—H. Wilton 7, W. Boar and J. Bradbury and W. Drake 6 each. Ward 3, Miller 3, Lett and Syverston 2 each, Flanagan 1.
