(Own Correspondent). Wednesday. For the quarter ending March 31st, 1910, there were 28 births, 12 deaths, and 8 marriages in this district. The annual meeting of householders will be held in St. Peter's Schoolroom to elect a school committee on the 25th inst. The annual social of the Managtainoka Football Club is to be held in the Mangatainoka Hall on Wednesday, 13th inst Mr G. A. Burgess has kindly offered to lend his collection of "tops" presented to the Bank of New Zealand by Messrs P. Willey and Co., Bradford, for demonstration purposes at the woolclassing classes to be started here on Monday next. The final for the President's trophy was played on the bowling green this afternoon. Shaw, the winner of B section, played off with Pearcey, the winner of A section, and defeated him by a narrow margin. The following team will represent Pahiatua in the cricket match on Saturday next, against the Konini district: Swainson, Collins, Pearcey, Wallis, Speer, Howard, Eccleton, Crasvlord, Lilly, Tipping, and Abraham. A meeting of the Management Committee of the Bush Districts Rugby Union is to be held in the Commercial Hotel on Saturday, 16th inst., at 8 p.m Alfred ICeeble, who was charged with attempted was brought befure Messrs R. Smith and W. McCarrlle, J.'sP., this bound over to keep the peace for one year. At the Pahiatua stock sale on Tuesday, a feature of the sale was the strong competition for good wethers, Messrs Abraham and Williams, Ltd , realising as high as 12s 9d. This firm are offering at their Pahiatua sale of the 12th inst., several attractive lines of wethers, wnich vsill no doubt again meet keen enquiry.
