CARTERTON NEWS.

(Own Correspondent.) Wednesday. A meeting of the stewards of the Taratahi-Carterton Racing Club was held last evening, Mr G. W. Deller in the chair. Messrs Deller and H. R. Bunny were appointed delegates to the conference convened by the Welilngton Club to consider of interest to racing clubs. The annual race meeting is to be held on November 9th and 10th. It was resolved to allow the Hack Guineas for 1911 to lapse. Certain defautlers are to be placed upon the unpaid forfeit list. Tbe Carrington Estate settlers have decided to form a co-operative dairy company, and hope to be ready for operation next season.
