ALLEGATIONS OF UNFAIR TREATMENT.
NORTH ISLAND RAILWAYS,
MINISTER'S REPLY
By Telegraph—Press Association. AUCLKAND, April 6. The Hon. R. McKenzie, Minister of Public Works, dealing with the allegations of unfair treatment of the North Island in the matter of railways expenditure, points out that £72,000 of the South Island railways vote last year was for works completed some time ago, and that for roads last year the North Island was voted £195,000 more than the South Island. The combined votes were — North Island, £635,750; South Island £603,743.
