METEOROLOGICAL.
By Telegraph—Press Association. WELLINGTON, April 5. The Rev, D, C. Bates' summary and forecast is as follows:—Heavy rain fell in several parts during Monday night, when the barometer rose everywhere, and moderate to strong southerly winds prevailed. Cold and stormy weather has continued about Foveaux Strait, and the conditions have been squally and changeable in the far North, but mostly fair elsewhere. Present indications are for strong southerly winds generally with cool and changeable weather. The barometer will probably rise everywhere shortly, and very high, especially in the North.
Mr H. G. Groves, Bush Grove, reports as follows:—Rainfall for month of March, 2.37 points; maximum f. M, 34 points on 4th: days with rain, 14; maximum temperature, 87 on Bth; minimum temperature, 38 on 22nd; rainfall for March. 1909, 4.01 points.
