The keel platis of the Conqueror and Monarch (battleships) and the Princess Royal (cruiser) were laid | to-day at the shipbuilding yards of 1 Beardmores, Armstrongs, and Vickers, Son and Maxim, lyThe Thunderer's keel will be laid at Blackwall on the 13th inst. The sum of £347,609 has already been spent on preliminary preparations for the construction of the ships. BATI'LES HP COLOSSUS. LONDON, April 1. The battleship Colossus will be launched on tha 9th April, at Clydebank. Her construction occupied eleven months.
