MAURICEVILLE COUNTY COUNCIL.
The monthly meeting of the Mauriceville County Council was held / on Saturday, the 26th day of March. Present.-Crs C. Forsberg, C. i Churchill Jackson, J. E. Perry, H. J. Dagg, and O. Isaksou. In the ab- | sence of the chairman, (Mr F. W. H. Kumner), Cr Jackson was voted to the chair pro tem, Mr Kummer being present at a later stage. Notice was received from the Minister of Labour that Thursday had been appointed as the elo&ing day for sneps and offices.. The Returning Officer reported the unopposed election of Messrs Kummer and Moss to the Wairarapa Hospital and Charitable Aid Board. Mr C. A. Wall wrote directing attention to the neglected state of the water tables on Mount Bruce Road. The secretary to the New Zealand Counties Association wroter requesting that the name of the delegate to the proposed conference be sent to him, also that any suggested amendments to statutes be forwarded before the 30th April.—The chairman (Mr F. W. H. Kummer) was appointed delegate to the proposed con-' ference. The clerk was instructed to notify Mr C. A. Wall that the water tables on Mount Bruce Road will be attended to as soon as the matter can conveniently be arraneed. It was also decided to gtt the metal on Mairj Road between railway station and Dreyer's Rock blinded as soon as the carts were available for this work. A let.er of thanks w.is directed to be sent to the Mauriceville Liu.e Company for kindly permitting road metal to be stored in their yard. Accounts amounting to £172 5s od were passed for payment.
