HEAVY RAIN AND GALES. TELEGRAPHIC COMMUNICATION CUT OFF. FLOODS IN THE THAMES VALLEY. RAILWAY SERVICE INTERRUPTED. By Telegraoh —Press Association. AUCKLAND, March si. A gale which has been raging for three days blew itself out to-day. Telegraph communication with the South has been cut off for two day?, but now it is partially restored, only one line is working, however, and this is blocked with orivate business. Nearly four inches of rain fell at Auckland between 3 p.m and midnight on Tuesday, causing washaways on the railwpy. A fierce gale is reported from Rotorua, and many trees are uprooted. Taupo has experienced the heaviest gale for many years, the grounds or the Spa Hotel suffering severely, many trees being blown down. Floods have occurred at Waihi and Paeroa and railway communication is cut off between Paeroa and Te Aroha and Waihi
