SHIPPING DISASTERS.

VESSEL SUNK AT NELSON. By Telegraph—Press Association. WELLINGTON, March 30. Advice has been received from Nelson that* the Anchor Company's steamer Koi, 123 tons, bound frum Motueka to Nelson, when approaching the new cut at NelEon Harbour, was struck by a roller, .thrown on her beam ends and sank. All hands were saved.

COLLISION IN WELLINGTON HARBOUR v BETWEEN COBAR AND DUCHESS. WELLINGTON, March 30. A collision took place in Wellington Harbour, to-night, between the Wellington Harbour Ferries', Ltd., steamers Cobar and Duchess. The Cobar was Day's Bay with 38 passengers, and the Duchess was coming to town from Day's Bay. The vessels collided off Point Jernyingham, near Roseneath. Apparently the Duchess suffered no damage, but the Cobar began to take in water. Both vessels steamed for the city. It was decided to beach the Cobar at Pipitea Point, Thorndon. All the passengers were landed safely. The Cobar is now practically full uf water. The nature and extent of her injuries are not ascertainable at present.
