HOW SHEEP FARMERS MIGHT ASSIST. A POUND A BALE. ' MELBOURNE, March 26. At the Sons of Temperance Conference a delegate advocated a tax on wool to make up for loss of revenue through prohibition of alcohol He pointed out that wool averaged £l3 per bale, of which £3 went in labour, so there was a huge profit. A tax of a pound a bale would yield two million pounds annually'.
