MASTERTON HOMING PIGEON CLUB.
One of the most interesting young bird races yet held was flown from Ormondville yesterday, the distance being 65§ miles airline. The birds were kindly liberated by the stationmaster at 8 o'clock, and the first bird arrived home at 9.41. Forty-two birds', representing thirteen lofts,* competed, and the following is the result:— H. M. Wilton's "Mamipai," bch cock, velocity 1,159 1 H. W. Lett's "Blue Spring," hen, velocity 1,156 2 J. Fyverston's "Mustard," pied fock, velocity 1,147 3 The next race is to be down from Wellington on Monday next. The judges are Messrs E. R. Richardß and E. Richards.
