MASTERTON FOOTBALL CLUB.
ANNUAL MEETING, The annual meeting of the Mas j terton Football Club was held in the Y.M.C.A. building last eveni g. There was a gool atte* dance of men.beri and Mr B. 'Jhapman presided. Owing to the secretary not being present, the annual report and , bal-ance-shept was not read, but was left over until an adjourned meeting on Thursday, 31st March, when the secretary was requested to be present. The election of officers for the enswing year was then proceeded with and 1 resulted as follows: —JPatron, Mr Dl K. Logan; President, Mr W. G. Lamb; vice-presidents, Messrs G. W. Sellar, A.- Henderson, C, Perry; secretary and treasurer, Mr B. Chapmrn. pro tem; Auditor, Mr C, Perry; Management GotMMkt©?, Messrs «J. Hanley, S. Dixon;- Nv Ffy, t', 3. MacKellar and the secretary ;■ delegates to Wairarapa Rugby tfnim Messrs B. Chapman,. J. H'anley. J. Langley; social commitke,- Messrs MacKelar, J. Hanely ; S. Dixon,. N.i Fly, and B. Chapman, w-ith power to acid to their number. On the motion of Mr 8.. Chapman, it was decided to request the juniors and third class teams to elect their own match committees.
The following new members were elected:—Messrs J. O'Gonnell, P. Hooper, H. Moore, and C. Hopkins. In connection with the gymnasium, Mr MacKellar said it had been the custom during the past two or
threeyears to make a rebate , of the 5s per week, which tha Club were entitled tofrom the gymnasium comThis year, howpver, the club
would require a hall for practising purposes, and he moved that the gymnasium committee be charged, the actually cost of what the Club had to pay for the hire of a hall. This was seconded by Mr Fisher, and earned.
Mr MacKellar said he was empowered to aay that if a hall was procured, Mr D. K. Logan would coach the teams if they would roll up for practices. The chairman emphasised the necessity for regular practice, and now the members had the offer of a good coach, he hoped they would all be present on practice evenings. On the motion of Mr B. Chapman, a motion of condolence was passed to Mrs W. P. James, widow of the late Air W. P. James, who had been president of the Club for many years,
It was decided to enter a junior and third class team for the Wairarapa Rugby Championship. The meeting then adjourned until Thursday evening, 31st inst.
