ALLIGED MANSLAUGHTER
DOCTOR uEVtiRriES HIS EVIDENCE.
Ueceived March 22, 7.35 p.m. SYDNEY, March 22
The Judge, in directing the jury to discharge two accused, Dr. Fiaschi and Nurse Young, said in view |of the second examination, which discovered the supposed missing organ, the Crown case utterly failed, and evidently a mistake bad been made. The jury added to the verdict of not guilty a rider to the effect that there was no evidence that the operation was unskilfully performed by Dr. Fiaschi.
A cablegram yesterday stated that Dr. t'arle Fiaschi and Nurse Young were charged with the manslaughter ot a girl named Nightingale, at Lithgow, on January 10th. A doctor who had previously stated that there was no indication of an operation of hemorrhoids, and that an important organ was missing, gave evidence that the supposed missing organ * was to-day found, in the presence of a number of medical experts, attached to another organ. There were also indications of an operation for hemorrhoids. Under the circumstances, he therefore reversed his previous opinion, which arose through abnormal conditions of the organs.
