LAWN TENNIS.
'1 he long deferred match between the Masterton and Carterton Lawn Tennis Clubs was played en the Masterton Tennis Court on Saturday afternoon last. Th«a weather was perfect, and the courts, owing to the indefatigable efforts ot the local Club's groundsman, Mr F. Treader, were in splendid order. The inter-olub match, which consisted of ten singles and five doubles, resulted in an easy victory for the local Club, the scores at the conclusion of play reading—Masterton, 14 wins; Carterton, one win. Afternoon tea was kindly dispensed by the lady members of the locai Club, and was much appreciated by those present.
