MASTERTON GOLF CLUB.
ANNUAL MEETING,
The annual meeting of timbers of j the Masterton Golf Clufc was held t yesterday afternoon, in the Technical School Building. Mr W. H. L. Gp.l- - ipCSSiding. The annual report, as already published, and the balance sheet, were adopted. The latter disclosed that ; a considerable sum had been advantageously speaft on improving tfee ijjrnks in varied ways.
The electte of officers resulted as i follows:—Resident, Mr H. CL i Williams J2(re-elected) ;«Vice-P*esh dents, Messrs H. Holmes arad &. J H. Beetfcam (re-alected); Captaim, - Mr W. H. Booth; General 'Corn-j mittee, A. R. Scteders, A. \3. Major, C. Perry. G. G. Aitfcen, A. B. 'Lawrence, D. Case&berg, and W. EL L. Galwe>; Secretary, Mr C.G,, Cox (re-elected):; Treasurer, Mr N. D. Buntang (re-efllected)., The chairman made eulogistic references to the serves rendered t© the Club by the secretory, and his>romarks were heart% applauded <by
tfcose presemt. A ladies' comnri&tee was elected ms H. 'Holmes, Miss 1£ Peyton and Mfiss J. Robieson. Mrs J. B. Henry was eleote i . o i - ary secretary to the 'a lies' committee, a hearty 'thanterbeing passed to Miss J.. •Robieson, who had previously acted in a ssimilar capacity. Mrs &. Beetham was* elected ladies' captain. It was decided that the opening day be fixed if or •Saturday, 'April 2nd.
On the motion of Mr Cox, 'it was decided to redstoe the subscription of honorary member Trom £1 Is ' (men; to 10a 6d; trom 10s6d • (Ladies) ittf ss. At a meeting of the (General Committee, heid subsequently, Messrs A. B. Lawrence, C !Perry>amd -A. R. Sclaoders were Elected a match, handicapping, and ground committee. It was also agreed thafcitbe a suggestion to Use match committee that in connection with the.championship
of 1910, a qualifying -round of 38 holes be play«d, and that the first eight compete in tthe-championship. Mrs H. Solmea gave notice of motion that rule No. 11 be altered so as to admit of the !lady members electing a representative to the general committee. In the meantime Mr Sclanders consented to act 'for the ladies as suggested.
