COMMERCIAL.
WELLINGTON WOOL SALES. Messrs Dalgety and Co., Ltd., report as follows —We held our fifth sale of the season on the 11th intan't -yesterday —when wfe offered a catalogue of 1,106 bales out of a total offering by all the brokers of 2,387 bales, and sold 987 bales at I auction. There was a representative attendance of buyers from all parts and bidding was animated through- , out. The wool, as is generally the case at this sale, was composed mostly of lambs and odd lots of wool. The prices for coarse lots were well maintained, whilst for inferior iots, which were passed at last sale, sold at a slight advance. Prices as compared with the last sale were, if anything, in buyer's favour. Bellies and pieces were slightly easiei. Good lambs wool was about on a par with late rates. Ryan, Kumara, two bales, Merino wethers, Lo|d, seven bales, crossbred wether, 10c 1 ; R. A. Renall, Carterton, four bales, lambs, 10 Jd; J. C. Heegerty, Grey town, three bales, lambs, 9|d; M. Ahikpene, Martinborough, lambs, 10id.
