_—„■ ", , RACE FROM DANNfiVIKKE. I The Masterton Homing Pigeon I Club held a young bird race from Dannevirke - 58 miles airline—yesterday, when thirty-one senting nine lofts, ware entered. The time registered by \ha placed birds was very slow, but. no doubt, unI favourable weather was encountered over a part of the journey. Fjur birds only out of the thirty-one were in the first batch to strike town, and some olose clocking resulted. The winning birds occupied 2hrs 28mins, over the journey, being exactly wicet as long as the time recorded last year i» this event. Mr R. H. Richards kindly acted as jjdge and. the following are the resultsMr W. Hoar's "Sparking Pliig," 638 yards per minuie 1. MrH. M. Wilton's "Toa," 629 yards per minute 2^ Mr A.
