MASTERTON WOOL, SKIN AND HIDE SALES. Messrs Levin and Co., Ltd., report:—We held our monthly sale of wool, skins, hides, etc., yesterday, when we offered 25 bales and 100 bags wool, 1,500 sheepskin?, 70 hides, and a quantity of tallow, norsehair, rabbitskins., etc., There was the usual attenoaiice of buyers, and cora- ; petition was good at late rates. Prices realised were as follows: — Wool: Crossbred fleece, 8d to 9d; i crossbred seedy, 7id to 7£d; lambs, 7Jd to 9d;dead, 6id tu 7Ad, locks and pieces, 3|d to 4|d; crutchings, s|d. Skins: Crossbred bust. 7|d; crossbred medium, 6fd; crossbred inferior pelted, s|d; shorts, 3|d to 6Jd; pelts, 3£d to 4|d; lambs, 7|d; dead, sfd to 6id. Hides: Cow gocd6|d; cow slippy, s£d; calf good, B£d; calf inferior, 4d. Tallow: In tins 18s to 18s 6d, casks 20s 3d, best I2s 6d per cwt. Rabbitskins, 8d to 10|d per lb. Horsehair, Is 3d per lb. Our next sale will be hi. Id on Wednesday, April 20tb, 1910. The Wairarapa Farmers' Co-opera-tive Association, Ltd.. and Messrs Ealgety and Co., Ltd.. report as follows: —We held our monthly sale of wool, sheepskins and hides yesterday, when we offered 40 bales wool, 100 bags, 1,000 sheepskins, 50 hides, and a quantity of horsehair, tallow, etc. There was a fair attendance of buyers, and all lines were disposed of at current rates, which wejregret are slightly easier than our previous sale. Wool: The odd bales of fleece wool .offered realised from 7|d to 9d, but on comparing the scouring lines of our previous sale there is a drop of about a farthing. We quote:—Fleece, 7|d to 9d; fleece seedy, B£d to 7d; fleece, log stained, 7d; lambs, 6|d toߣd; lambs seedy sd; lambs pieces, s|d; pieces and bellies, 4d to 4£d; pieces, sd; table locks, 3d; locks, 3.1; pieces and bellies' stained, 2|d; dead, 6fd. Skins: Crossbred, 6|.i; crossbred broken, s£d; crossbred dead and broken, 4£d; crossbred dead, s|d; pelts, 4d to 4|d; pelts broken, 3d; lambs, 6d: lambs seedy, 4|d, hoggets, sd; black, 3|d. Hides: Cow, 6|d; cow slippy, s£d to s|d; cow cut and slippy, s£d; ox slippy, 5Jd; ox dry cut, 3fd; bull, 4|d; bull dead, 4£d; calf. BJd to B|d; calf slippy, 6§d;calf, dry s£d; calf cut and slippy, 6d. Our next sale will be held on Wednesday, April 20th, 1910.
STOUK MARKET. Messrs Abraham and Williams, Ltd., report on their Fahiatua F.A. sale of Bth inst. as follows: —We had a heavy yarding of both sheep and ©attle. Sheep were dull of sale, but most classes of cattle met fair competition, Quotations Two, and 4 tooth ewes, 12s 3d to 12a 9d; sound mouth ewes, 9s 6d to 10s; aged ewes, 3s to 6s; forward wethers, lis 4d; small 2 tooths, 9s 9d; good rape lambs, 7s 9d to 8s lid; good lambs, 5s 7d to 6s 9d; small rape lambs, 3s 6d to ss; Lincoln rams, 1£ guineas to If guineas; 2 tooth Romney rams, £5 ss; aged Romney rams, 1 to 1\ guineas; Shropshire rams, 1J guineas; fat ewes, 9s to 10s: fat bullocks, £5 15s; 2 year steers, £1 3s 6d; 18 month steers. £2 7s; dairy cow, £4; good forward cows, £3 14s to M 3s; others, £1 Is to £3 4s; heifers in calf, £3 4s 6d.
