VISIT OF INSPECTION TO CANADA. BY MAJOR-GENERAL FRENCH. Received March 8, 11.30 p.m. LONDON, March 8. In the debate on the Army Estimates in the House of Commons, Hn. R. Haldane, Secretary of State for War, stated that the Government were organising a pronautical corps on the German pattern. In regard to the present a deficiency in horses ot 120 000 an Imperial General Staff scheme is being developed by General G. W. Nicholson, who was receiving weekly com • regard to the organisation. > Mr Haldane hoped that Lord Kitchener's visit to Australasia would bear practical fruit, and he stated that Major-General Sir G. A. French was goin? on a similar mission to Canada.
