Forty thousand persons are striking in Philadelphia, including cabdrivers, bricklayers, textile workers, carpenters, plumbers and tailors. MORE RIOTING. WOMAN FATALLY SHOT. Received March 8, 9.30 a.m. NEW YORK, March 7. There have been further riots in Philadelphia. Many rioters were badly clubbed by the police. '< Numerous arrests have beeki made. A woman was fatally shot. I TROOPS HELD IN READINESS. Received March 8, 11.30 p.m. NEW YORK, March 8. The strike leaders at Philadelphia , are planning to extend the strike * throughout Pennsylvania. The Federal Government is holding the Federal troops and artillery in readiness to protect the mint.
