SAVINGS BANKS FUNDS.
UNITED STATES LEGISLATION. Received March 7, 1.30 p.m. NEW YORK, March 6. The United States Senate passed the Post Office Savings Banks Bill, which has been so amended as to permit the investment of deposits in Government securities, but only in war times or times of great national stress.
