WELLINGTON HIDE AND SKIN SALES. Messrs Dalgety and Co., Ltd., report having held their fortnightly j sale of sheepskins, hides and tallow yesterday, when they offered a good dialogue of all classes to a large attendance of buyers. Prices obtained were as follows :-Sheepskins sold on a par with last sale as under :- Half bred, 9d; half bred fine, 7|d to 8d; crossbred medium and coarse, 6|d to 7|d; crossbred broken and damaged 4d to 6Jd; crossbred double fleece 3|d hoggets 73>d: dead, s|d to 6fd; shorts, 3ldto 6d; black, sd; pelts, 4id to sid; pelt* damaged, 31d to 32d; lambs 6Jd to 7fd; lambs' pelts, |d; pelts green is Bd. to 3s sd; lambs, green 3s; lambs pelts, 2s 2d Hides.-Ox hides showed an ad vance of about id per lb;-other sorts firm at last sale rates as under. - Oxhides, 7gd to 8d; medium, 6J-d to7|d; light cut 6Jd; cow, 6&d to cow, 4|dto6*d; slippy, 2£d to 4d- bulls, sdtos|d; ?alf best Bfd to 9|d; medium, 6f dto 6ld; inferior, 4d to 6&d; cowtails, Is 6d per dozen; goat skins, Is each. LONDON WOOL SALES. Messrs Dalgety and Go., Ltd., report having received the following cable msesage from their London house under date of the 28th utl:— Wool.—The list of arrivals is closed and all your wools have arrived in time. The new arrivals amounted to 365,000 bales, of which quantity 229,000 bales have been • forwarded diiect to manufacturers at Home and abroad, leaving, with 5,000 bales carried forward from January series, 141,000 bales available for sale. Messrs Dalgety and Company, Ltd., report haying received the following cable message from their London house under date of the Ist inst:— Wool—"he dates of our own sales are:—9th March,. 15th March, 21st March.
STOCK MARKET. By Telegraph—Press Association. PALMERSTON N., March 3. Messrs Abraham and Williams, Ltd., report as follows:—At Palmerston North on Thursday a large entry of sheep came forward, and met with a good all round demand, several sraight lines of four and five-year ewes being eagerly sought after. Forward lambs for rape also sold well. Quotations: Sheep, four hundred four-year ewes, lis 3d; six hundred and fifty four and live-year ewes, 10s sd, 10s 6d; four hundred and twenty four and five year ewes, 10s 6d; three hundred and fifty four and five-year ewes, 10s 8d two-tooth ewes, 13s 6d to 13a 9d; two-tooth to f.f.m. ewes, lis 2d: f.m. ewes, 7s Id to 8s 4d; cull ewes 3s 4d to ss; fat and forward ewes, 9s lid; forward wethers, 12s; two-tooth wethers, lis; rape lambs, 6s 9d to 8s; store lambs, 4s 4d to ss; cull lambs, 3s sd; Romney rams, 2£gns. Cattle: Forward cows, £3 12s 6d; weaner heifers, 20s; weaner steers, 31s.
