DAIRY FARMERS IN CONFERENCE.
EMPLOYEES' WAGES. THE PALMERSTON WINTER SHOW. By Telegraph—Press Association. PALMERSTON N„ March 3. A conference of dairy factory proprietors of the Wellington district was held to-day. Thirty factories were represented. Mr McFarlane, President of the. Dairy Associati on, presided, and the meeting was called to consider the demands of the factory employees for a new award to succeed the present one, which runs out on March 31st. The employees have formulated demands which have been published but which have not been brought officially before employers or the Court. After considering the position it was decided to set up a committee of seven, with power to act, to meet whatever situation may arise.. The present award, which was only for nine months, will continue in force till another is substituted. The committee of the National Dairy Show has decided to hold a combined demonstration of milking machines at. the Winter Show in June next. The North Island Poultry Association has forwarded a permit for the poultry sections of the same Show.
