ftACLNG. V.R.C. MEETING. By Telegraph—Press Association. February 27, 5.45 p.m. FLEMINGTON, February 27. The Autumn Meeting of the V.R.C. Racing Club opened in splendid weather. The course was in good order, and the attendance good. "he racing was Jess interesting than usual, as the winners in at least three events, namely, the St. Leger, Sires' Produce, and Essendon Stakes were regarded as foregone conclusions. The withdrawal of the New Zealand horses Bobrikoff and Downfall, robbed the Weight-for-Age races of much interest. The results are: — Pines Hurdles.—Silvery Port 1, The Gaul 2, Lord Desmond 3. Won easily by two lengths. Time, 3min 47£ sec. St. Leger Stakes.—Mr J. Baron's b c Prince Foote, by Sir Foote— Pefruschka, 1; Moruga 2, Flavian 3. Prince Foote took the lead fnm the ix furlongs post, the others fighting for second place. Won by twenty lengths, one length between second and third. Time, 3min s£see. Newmarket Handicap.—Mr H. \ 'Alan Currie's br or bl c Mala, by Malster—La France, 3yrs (W. S. Hickenbotham) 8.0, 1; Malt King',' ; 8.12, 2; Flavinius. 8.9, 3. From a good start Mala, on the rail*, got away from Lautoka, and Comedy King in the centre, Malt King and Scobic, with Plush and Captain White on the outside, and Ngauruhoe and Flavinius close up. At the five furlongs post Mala led by two lengths from Queen of Scots, Comedy King, > Pretty Peg, Male King, Flavinius and Plush. Monodonist fell. Mala maintained his lead, Malt King gaining slightly. Flavinius and Queen of Scots raced for third place Won by a lengh and a half, threequarters of a length between second and third. Leger, St. Tanc, Lager was the first away, and at the furlong post led from Gigandra, Beverage and St. Tano. At the five furlongs Gigandro ran all over the course. Beverage caught up and pa?- j sed easily, and won by four lengths, j three lengths between second and third. Time, lmin 16sec. | Essendon Stakes. —Alawa 1, Pendil 2, Diabolo 3. Also started.—Lord Nolan, Mushka. Lord Nolan led into the straight from Alawa, Mushka, Pendil, and Diabolo. Alawa took charge at the distance, and won by five lengths. Time, 2min 39|sec. Brunswick Stakes.—Wedding Present 1, Edenholm 2, Yarrabar 3. Also started.—Kerlie, Plunder, Carl Dour Matouree, Nobel, Active, Blind Harry, Trelo, Vounl, Francis, Perilous, Port Logan and Herova. Won by a length and a quarter, two and a half lengths between second and third. Time, 2min B|sec.

DUNEDIN RACES. By Telegraph—Press Association. DUNEDIN, February 27. For the Dunedin Jockey Club's third day the weather was wet. The sum of £23,328 was put through the totalisator for the three days, as against £24,294 at last year's meeting.
