WORLD'S GOLD OUTPUT.
Received February 27, 5 p.m. PRETORIA, February 27. Mr Langermann, speaking in the Chamber of Mines, Johannesburg, said that of the world's gold ouput, totalling 91 millions in 1909, the Transvaal contributed £30,925,788. Referring to the continuous fall in Australia's output, he said it appeared probable that at no distant date the world would look to Africa for the largest proportion of the gold supply. White labour on the Witwatersrand had increased by 18 per cent., compared with 1908.
